The month of February, though the shortest of months, contains what has become one of the more important secular celebrations – Valentine’s Day. It is important in that not only do young lovers express their desires; committed companions also express their devotion to one another through cards, candy, dining and their own cherished rituals.

The practice and dedication of the degree teams has been clearly seen in the excellent performances that the members have delivered. It is through these rituals that initiates can more clearly understand some of the underlying principles of the fraternity.

First and foremost, I want to thank everyone for their encouragement over the years and for your trust and confidence in electing me as the Worshipful Master. I will do my best for the Lodge. I ask your assistance in the task ahead.

I want to thank each of you for your confidence and support throughout this year. As the year draws to a close, I look back. This year, as Worshipful Master of St. James Lodge, has been a wonderful experience. It has taught me a lot.

CHARITY!! Charity is THE cornerstone of Masonry. Do you like doing a good deed every day? Do you DO one? Perhaps you do more than the average Boy Scout, but one deed would be an excellent start. When did we last pay a brother’s overdue dues? But we are expected to help our Brothers! How...

Our menu was such a success at the St. John the Baptist Festival that we will have the same menu for our Open House Dinner. There will be twice as much bread pudding because of the popularity of such.

The degree teams are working diligently under the direction of our Senior Warden Brother Jim Robinson and our Trainer Brother Cal Elliot, P.M. Perfection is the goal we all work for in our degree work.

St. James Lodge has been blessed, this year, with new members. We are continuing to receive petitions and will confer an Entered Apprentice Degree on Thursday, July 1st, at 7:30 p.m. More E.A. degrees are coming.

Our South-Louisiana summer is upon us. The thermometer records degrees. St. James is heating up with degrees, but these are degrees in masonry rather than temperature.
