I had the pleasure of being able to gather together with Freemasons from all over Louisiana and as far away as England in New Orleans June 22-23 to celebrate the 200th anniversary of the founding of the Grand Lodge of Louisiana F&AM.

Thank you again for your support of the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank. We are able to provide 7 meals for every $1 donated, so your generous $250 donation is equivalent to 1,750 meals. I’ve attached the picture we took yesterday at the Food Bank. Please let me know if you need anything else.

On Thursday, June 21st, St James Lodge #47 welcomed Istrouma Boy Scout Council Troop 505, their parents and Troop Leaders, along with members of the Audubon Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution to an open meeting for a tribute to the American Flag in honor of Flag Day.

On Saturday April 14th, St. James lodge members conferred Fellow craft degrees on two candidates at Milford Lodge #117. Once again, I want to thank the degree team for their hard work, commitment, and the excellent performances that they delivered with perfection.

Both PGM W.Bro., William Brown and W.Bro., Frank Dedman talked on Masonry. Their talks were very informative and enlightening. Our thanks go to them for sharing their wisdom with our guests. Following that, the guests were entertained by the Baton Rouge Horn Club.

I recently read an interesting article that posited that there are two kinds of Masonic education. The author called the first “Freemasonry Education”, this would include all items dealing with the history, organization, and operation of Freemasonry.

Our first meeting of the new year, on January 5th honored our recently departed Brothers as WBr. Ben Melonson called out their names (see last months newsletter). We also discussed rental of the first floor.
