Brethren, Thank you to those of you who were able to attend our recent Guest Night/Past Masters Night. Several guests were in attendance, along with our usual good showing from our Past Masters. Special thanks go to Bill Brown, PGM and George Jones, PM for their words of wisdom concerning Masonry.

Brethren, I hope this finds you and yours fully recovered from any damages you may have received from Hurricanes Gustov and Ike. Let us pray to the Great Architect of the Universe that those not as fortunate may receive a quick and speedy recovery.

In a little less than 48 hours, LSU will be holding its summer commencement. I mention this because each of you has influenced me. I would like to share a few thoughts with you. I hope you won’t mind my ramblings.

On May 15th, St. James heard a report from Reverend Mike Hammett, Associate Pastor, First United Methodist Church, on his recent Holy Land Pilgrimage, as a guest of Plains Commandery No. 11 and the Grand Encampment of Knights Templar.

“Why does Masonry fail so much?” puzzled the New Brother, dropping into a chair beside the Old Tiler in the anteroom. “I didn’t know it did,” commented the Old Tiler.

Guest Night is an evening when members of a club or Lodge bring their friends and guests. Please bring your spouse and encourage any guests you invite to bring their spouse as well.
